The US retail giant amazon has reportedly leased 6 lakh square feet of office space in Hyderabad.
Amazon would occupy the lately-leased office space in two phases, with the first phase covering an area of 250,000 square feet. Over the next one and a half years, the firm is poised to occupy another 6 lakh square feet.
The new office space would cater to the services and underlying operations that cater to the globe, and as such, the new facility shall cater to the entire magnitude of e-commerce business of the firm.
Apart from the current office-space of 3.1million sq ft, the retail giant has more than 27 fulfilment centers across the country, sources noted. Amazon claimed it has become most visited e-commerce site in India, pipping Indian competitor Flipkar, in December 2015.
Queries to Amazon on latest developments were received with responses that said they do not comment what they are doing or not doing in the future.
