US President Donald Trump is poised to France’s Bastille Day celebrations this year. The President spoke to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, and the invitation was extended during the course of the talk.
The Bastille Day is commemorated 14 July each year, on which date the French revolution was sparked by hundreds of agitators back in 1789. The crowd went berserk and stormed the Bastille prison, setting the inmates free. The jail had been a symbol of autocracy and royalty for the French monarchy.
According to the French officials, President Trump has been invited on two occasions. Besides the Bastille Day, the centenary celebrations of the US joining World War I are also lined up; wherein the American military would also display its prowess.
