Mayawati, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president addressing a joint press conference with Sri Pawan Kalyan at Saipriya Resorts in Rishikonda in Visakhapatnam said people of Andhra Pradesh were looking for a better change in the political system and a silent revolution is underway to make Pawan Kalyan as Chief Minister. She expressed confidence that the alliance with Janasena, CPI and CPM would prove its strength in the Lok Sabha elections both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Terming Pawan Kalyan as a leader with social responsibility, Mayawati said it was a welcoming feature for the young leaders like Pawan Kalyan entering politics with a thrust to bring change in the society. Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar had strived hard for the uplift of SCs, STs and weaker sections of the society. There was a significant population of SC, ST in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. With inspiration from Kanshiram, she had initiated many welfare schemes for the benefit of SCs and STs. The Congress and BJP have failed to provide special category status to Andhra Pradesh, she said and promised that she would make efforts to provide special status to AP.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Pawan Kalyan said he has a dream to see BSP leader Mayawati as Prime Minister. Usually, any leader would refer history to show development, but contemporary growth could be shown as a mark of development during the Mayawati rule. She had maintained law and order well and even she did not tolerate her own party legislators if they did any wrong doings with regard to law and order. The State has development manifold both economically and socially. She had implemented many welfare schemes for the people living below the poverty line, he said and expressed his gratitude to Mayawati on behalf of people of Andhra Pradesh for having a poll alliance.
